CAN SUPPORT PROGRAM’S

Home Care Program

Dear Friends,

While you register yourself for the XVI IAPCON 2009, we invite you to be part of CanSupport’s holistic home based palliative care programme in Delhi.

CanSupport has been working to improve the quality of life of patients facing cancer and other life limiting illnesses in Delhi and the National Capital Region since 1996. With a clear vision, focused goals, articulated objectives and well-implemented interventions, CanSupport reaches out to these patients at their doorstep to bring about a holistic and lasting transformation in their lives. The members of the home care team – comprising doctors, nurses and counselors – provide symptom control and pain relief, emotional and spiritual support, and education to individuals and communities in their role as caregivers. It is an exemplary model of how a significant enhancement of quality for life of people living with cancer is possible through joint action among organizations, families and the community, each with its own distinct role.  More than 14,000 people (patients and their families), mostly from the underprivileged sections of our society, have benefited from this crucial care. Our 7 teams are currently looking after nearly 400 patients and their families at their homes.

You can visit with our home care teams in different parts of Delhi and NCR to understand the assessment, management and monitoring of total pain – physical, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual – and have a first hand experience of our holistic care. The available dates are 10-11-12-16-17-18 Feb 2009

Register yourself for a home visit here. Please note that we can take up a limited number of registrations (first come first basis)….so register now. It is free.

Hoping to see you at CanSupport!

With warm regards,

Dr. Ambika Rajvanshi

Director - Home Care
